Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon 2021The Run Disney races are some of my favorite . The Run Disney website describes the race as:

“Even if you live in a galaxy far, far away, you can participate in our Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon—run on a treadmill, around your neighborhood or any course of your choosing. Whether you break up your 13.1 miles over multiple days or run it all at once, you’ll earn a collectible Star Wars-themed medal.”

“Send your race journey into hyperspace by also participating in the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida! Complete both races and earn the coveted runDisney Kessel Run Challenge medal.“

The virtual race can be run anywhere and even broken up into pieces. Last year, I ran three days in a row around Disneyland to complete my challenge. The last day was on the Sunday that the original Star Wars Half Marathon would have taken place. Although I miss the Disneyland Half Marathons, I had a great time doing my runs around the resort. The picture above is from the final run I took. You have 3 months to complete your challenge. You have two options with this race. You can just run the virtual half and get the medal for that event, or you can combine with with the Star Wars Rival Half Marathon at Walt Disney World in April to get and additional Kessel run medal.

Be sure to check out the Run Disney Star Wars Rival Weekend at Walt Disney World in April. If you sign up for the Kessel Run Virtual Half, you not only get your virtual Half Marathon Medal, but you will be eligible to get the Kessel Run medal when you complete the Rivals Half Marathon.

    The Run Disney races are a unique blend of running, fitness, fun, and encouragement. The goal is to get people moving and they due. With their encouragement, fitness advise and unique Disney blend of entertainment, you have to have fun participating in one of their event. I especially like the fact that the course is not just a cold, long run. During the course you run through Disney landscapes, have Cast members and the public cheering you on, Disney character photo opportunities, and many more things to keep your mind entertained. Whether it is a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or full marathon, the race you run will be one of the most enjoyable running experiences.

    Be sure to also check out the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon that replaced the Disneyland race. If you sign up for the Kessel Run Virtual Half, you not only get your virtual Half Marathon Medal, but you will be eligible to get the Kessel Run medal when you complete the Rivals Half Marathon.
